Since arriving nearly four weeks ago, I've become obsessed with the small cars that Europeans love to drive. Especially entertaining are the two stroke Trabants which is one of the definitve symbols of the failure of Communism. The poop colored car at right was built in East Germany from 1957-1991 but never underwent any significant technological or stylistic changes. The most amazing thing about these cars is that the body is made from plastic reinforced with wool or cotton (East Germany couldn't afford steel imports). You can buy one of these cars from E-Bay Germany for only 600 Euros (so what if it barely works?). Since Dani won't let me buy one, I've done the next best thing and started an album dedicated to the wierd cars that pepper this continent.

hmmmm..........plastic and wool body panels. At least they don't rust, but the dry-cleaning bills must be ridiculous...godel
Tell Gary they'd be better off reinforcing the cars with the "Greeven" (deep fried chicken skin) that my mother in law made this weekend.
Greevn may be the answer to the energy crisis. It can provide fuel as well as engine oil and chassis grease to the cars of the future.
